Locks of Love – A gift!

My sweet Mahaley has the most gorgeous color red hair.  I absolutely love it, and I believe red heads are truly special!  Mahaley has had trims here and there, but hasn’t really had a major haircut since she was a young three years old.  And now, two years later, it has gotten quite long.  I mentioned to Mahaley a few months ago about the program Locks of Love.
A great organization if you aren’t familiar.  They are a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

Mahaley showed an interest in cutting her hair off for this cause, and I told her she had to wait just a little bit longer for it to be the required 10 inches in length from the top of the ponytail.

Tonight was the night!

She did a great job, and I’m so proud of her and it feels great knowing such a worthy cause is putting her hair to great use.

And we went to Great Clips, where they do the haircut for free ( please call before you go to verify that your local store does this as well).
